![]() (One being the "most popular" req in my market place, and the other in Europe not named Hoensfeld) These last-minute units credited my Resume (how I described my experience, qualities, goals, and just how I sold myself). This week alone, I went from being number "2" for my top 2 positions/location (yes, the first loser, and will fill the need of the ARMY) to being offered two "1-1's" from highly sought out units I did not even have hopes for due to the popularity. Market yourself out there and make sure your Resume is stacked and neat. Like most Officers, I consider myself "middle of the pack," and with this current AIM cycle, and probably have gone a little crazy the past month with no response/ no thank you. I agree with the others, to an extent, that the top officers with TOP blocks/ great OER's will (probably be preferred more than others). The best advice I can tell you about is BREATH! Remember those MRT training you would push down to your Soldiers? Yes, hunt the good stuff, that one. ![]() Do you maybe have a bad reputation for some reason that is holding you back? If you don't have even a single green checkmark, maybe it's time to talk to a mentor about what big thing it is you're missing on your ORB (vs whether you're just hunting the wrong jobs). Any job you have a green checkmark from, you're probably in their top 5-10, while they see everyone's top 40-50ish. Otherwise, realize that you're broadcasting a lot more "interest" signals than the jobs do. There is a clear primacy bias where people are eager to snatch up top talent, so they commit to a 1:1 match with the first good officer they hear from. I've been on both sides, and in the first few weeks I was far more enthused about hearing from candidates than in the last few. They can't go much past that because this cycle includes PCS dates in April.įor future cycles, contact jobs earlier. Ideally we should have RFOs Jan/Feb, but BPT wait until March-ish. Since they've done this process a few times now it shouldn't take as long as it did the first time. They'll probably run the computer algorithm within a day or so of it closing and have a preliminary solution within hours, but then they have to manually check it for MACP/EFMP/stupidity (last year I ranked a bunch of 62As for a 62B job that they are allowed to do, but HRC didn't want to "waste" them on). Do not answer n00b questions on the main boards.
